In order to access re:SearchIL, you must be registered on either the eFileIL or re:SearchIL sites. If you already have an eFileIL account, you can sign into re:SearchIL using the same email address and password. If you don't have an eFileIL account, you can register for an account on re:SearchIL.
By Supreme Court order, the following groups currently have the corresponding access in re:SearchIL.
- Judges – Statewide access to public cases/documents
- Clerks – Access to all non-confidential cases/documents within their jurisdiction

Attorneys/Case Parties – Access to all cases/document that they are a Party or Attorney of Record on.
- Attorneys (AOR) get access to all cases where their ARDC number appears.
- Case Parties (SRL) get access to all case where they have had an e filing accepted from the same email address.

- NOTE: No users have access to documents that have been Hidden or Sealed by court order. Only the courts can unseal these documents or grant users access to them.

How far back is data available?
Data and documents that were eFiled are available on re:SearchIL from 1/1/2018 going forward for Judges, Clerks, Attorneys/Case Parties. Licensed Attorneys searching outside their cases will see documents filed on or after 1/1/2020. Additionally, local courts may choose to integrate their case management systems with re:SearchIL to contribute case data and documents that were not e-filed. In these instances, cases and documents contributed via the local courts could go back decades. The data in each court will vary on a court-by-court basis.
